Class Action Opt-out
The Global Class Actions Asset Recovery Program goes live on December 1, 2026. It automatically enrolls eligible accounts. Customers who do not want to take part must ask you, their Introducing Firm. You then record the opt-out on the account.
This guide shows how to record an opt-out with the API.
How enrollment works
The classActionsEnrolled field on an account controls enrollment.
| Value | Meaning |
|---|---|
false | The customer has opted out. |
true | The customer is enrolled, or re-enrolled. |
Omitted or null | The account is treated as enrolled. This is the default. |
Opt an account out
Send a PATCH request to the account with classActionsEnrolled set to false. Replace {accountID} with the ID of the account to exclude.
curl --request PATCH \
--url https://bo-api.drivewealth.net/back-office/accounts/{accountID} \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer <your token>' \
--header 'dw-client-app-key: <your app key>' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{
"classActionsEnrolled": false
}'See the Update account reference for the full request details.
Re-enroll an account
To enroll an account again, send the same request with classActionsEnrolled set to true.
curl --request PATCH \
--url https://bo-api.drivewealth.net/back-office/accounts/{accountID} \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer <your token>' \
--header 'dw-client-app-key: <your app key>' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{
"classActionsEnrolled": true
}'A customer who opted out and later wants to rejoin must agree to the Terms in effect at that time.
Set enrollment when you create an account
You can also set classActionsEnrolled when you open an account. Add the field to the create request.
curl --request POST \
--url https://bo-api.drivewealth.net/back-office/accounts \
--header 'Authorization: Bearer <your token>' \
--header 'dw-client-app-key: <your app key>' \
--header 'Content-Type: application/json' \
--data '{
"userID": "123e4567-e89b-12d3-a456-000000000004",
"accountType": "LIVE",
"accountManagementType": "SELF",
"tradingType": "CASH",
"classActionsEnrolled": false
}'Things to know
- Opt-outs apply to one account. If a customer has several accounts, send a request for each account they want to exclude.
- Process requests promptly. DriveWealth sends Broadridge an updated consent file every month. An account is excluded only after our record shows
classActionsEnrolledasfalse. - Earlier claims stay in place. If a claim has already been filed for a lawsuit, opting out afterward does not remove the customer from that lawsuit.
- Closed accounts are not covered by the program.
- You do not need to send confirmation. DriveWealth keeps a record of each update.
